You already know that the classification topics are the topics of the essays, describing the properties of the different objects belonging to one and the same category. Normally, when recommending students how to choose classification topics, we tell that they just have to choose any category and classify it. But the experience shows that more detailed instructions are needed, because the students often choose quite weak topics following such a general directions.

Therefore, we decided to tell you which classification topics are bad in order to show you what kind of the classification essay topics should be avoided.
To the bad classification topics we attribute the following:

  • If the classified category is poor and includes only three or four objects, you should not choose it for classification. However, if you choose it, it is almost certain that your essay will be evaluated quite low.
  • If the category is disputable, and some of the objects are not proved to belong to it, you should also avoid choosing it as a classification essay topic, if you do not feel like getting a low grade.
  • If you are not sure that the category really exists, or if you created it on your own, it is certain that you will fail to get a high grade for such an essay.

But if you avoid the listed types of the classification topics, you will surely succeed in composing an excellent essay. So, you should be just a little more discriminating in order to manage to choose a brilliant classification essay topic.
